Mate why stop at 1 bitcrusher, you need at least 8 to get one standard yoi

yeah i've used 10 bitcrushers on the kick drum but then i ran out of fingers to count on but i put some on the wobble too. do you think more is needed? :D

seriously tho, the yoy bass is probably the easiest thing i've learnt to do so far - i just bitcrushed a wobble and tweaked it until it sounded good. although mine is more of a yuy than a yoy, maybe more tweaking is needed.

a datsik noise, seems to be impossible. i've not even got close to that. a chasing shadows style synth would be great too, again not even close. i have got close to skrillex's midrange bass sound, just using a low frequency saw wave, distortion and the wow filter but its still not as good. about the only think i have had any success doing is basic wobbles and yoy basses. :u:

i'll keep practicing.

Copying can be a good way to learn but it can also be very frustrating, hence the title of your thread I guess.
Try not to reproduce anything, just making bass sounds and see where you get. You may actually get closer when you're not trying to and even if you don't, I'm sure you'll have more fun.

This.

Even though I condone trying to learn the techniques the pros use, and getting as close as possible - sometimes it can be incredibly unproductive and you're better off just trying the techniques rather than trying the sounds. Definitely do both, but I personally have had more success just going over various tips and techniques.

Bro, this is why I don't like FL because they only give me 8 fx channels to put bitcrushers on

EDIT: OMG DUBSPOT!!!!!
