Have you ever thought you might be narrow minded, and your taste is not developed enough for his music.
Kode 9's music might not be as amazing as some others, but in the right setting, and frame of mind his music is great imo.

I see how you feel but can't help but suggest you look at yourself before you get high and mighty towards people who've innovated the scene you write music too. I doubt without Hyperdub (which started off as a platform for Kode9s own music, don't forget) dubstep wouldn't of gone in that weird and wonderful direction and open more doors for us as producers to push so many boundaries.
Yes, you might not buy his music or like it but being so rude to someone (with or without kode9s kind of influence) is damn right obnoxious and yes, ive deleted about 20 obnoxious things while typing this - cause I don't believe in hanging your dirty washing out for other people to see but ranting and getting carried away or not - you've lost a lot of my respect.
This coulda been about anyone and I would said the same thing, for the record.

I hate KODE 9 with an almost intolerable and cancerous bile that at times feels like it's going to burn through my insides and seep into the world around me, kinda like when you shoot Alien and acid blood sprays all over your face. It seriously just aggrivates me so much knowing that you can make a reputation in music WITHOUT ACTUALLY KNOWING HOW TO WRITE MUSIC simply because the public's understanding of music is pretty much zero. Good producer, worst musician of all time. If you like KODE 9 I'm sorry but there is something wrong with you and you need to be corrected.

I would love it. kode9 is a madman, so much feeling in his tunes. its similar to how some people like flylo cause of the cool-kid factor, or burial or w/e...
End of the day though, you cant fuck with kode's production. ace shit.
Oh and kai, do some research, kode9 teaches music theory and production for a living, he says himself he just throws all that out the window when he writes, no need to cry about it, turn it off and move along. (deleted obnoxious things cause legnd4ry's right, totally not worth it.)

I think Kode9 is overrated, but i have huge respect for the man in terms of what he has achieved. just not so keen on his music.
Can't stand Spaceape, it makes me cringe - but i suppose this is a reaction Kode9 wouldn't really mind.
Anyway Spaceape's style seems to be influenced by Linton Kwesi Johnson?

Just saying this shit is sex.
The sound effects are amazing, the drums are borderline perfect, the synth is simple as fuck but glues it all together, and regardless of whether he practices what he teaches in terms of theory, it gets stuck in my head, and that lfo does wonders... The vocals are really well used, haunting shit. And then that harmonica sorta thing comes in, and carries you away.
Cant fuck with it.

My original post does contain my real views, I won't lie and say it doesn't, I really can't stand kode 9, and it does annoy me that he is praised as he is given that his music sounds to me like the result of somebody testing the 'monkeys in a room will write shakespear' theory, however, my original post wasn't mean to be as serious as a lot of you guys seem to have read it, I wasn't angry when I wrote it, I wasn't pissed off or moody or on a man period (when have you ever seen an angry guy manage to use gary glitter similes, reference the Alien movie and talk about cheese graters in one go) the post had my real views but they were laced with ridiculousness and stupid metaphors - I tend not to express any view seriously so the things I dislike end up voiced in ridiculously over the top ways and the things I like equally get the same exaggerated treatment - it wasn't meant to offend, I assumed at worst somebody might get a bit moody over it, shrug and ignore it muttering the words "what an idiot" to themselves - I thought the post was sufficiently preposterous for people to realize I was exaggerating a lot of the views in it and not get offended by it, but apparently not and i'll take the hit for that, and I do apologize for offending people here. My views could have been aired more diplomatically.
