To the OP.

Start at 1.6mm. Do NOT RUSH. Your ears need to regain their elasticity before you make the next stretch. Leave 6-8 weeks in between stretches to make absolutely sure and NEVER take it more than 1mm at a time. Saltwater soak in the evening and use cotton buds to ensure as much gunk is removed as possible. Don't be afraid of using a little pressure when cleaning, but don't be too rough.

To the dude who said you want to avoid organic materials, to a certain extent this a true. But you also want to take into consideration that materials such as Acrylic/PTFE/Silicone cannot be autoclaved (sterilised). Surgical steel or Titanium are your best bets. Try to avoid Blackline/anodized metal products too until you're at a size you want to stay at.

Also...if you're doing it for the right reasons and not just to impress your friends, the timescale shouldn't matter int he slightest. Good things come to those who wait!

I think it looks terrible. I've seen plenty of good looking people ruin their appearance by getting too large of plugs. To me it's up there with getting those gold rings around your neck or lip disc.
