I don't know it as a fact but I'm sure I've heard this before.
He's definitely from the UK seeing as he had a 7" called 'Jeremy Kyle' on team Acre. I reckon Scottish is a good call too seeing as he's also released a track called 'Ion Bru' (The Scott's love that isht) http://www.discogs.com/artist/Akira+Kiteshi

Agreed.
But if you want there is Akira Takeshi, I've only heard one or two tracks from him and neither were for me.
Edit: I did a little googling, turns out the guy is Wapanese. (He's not Japanese.)
Also I just want to know my voice is heard, again, and say that I truly believe DJ Krush would be an amazing producer; his atmospheres and complexity in trip hop would go well at 140BPM.
Yuh, Akira Kiteshi is a Scottish kid in his mum's basement

Even though I've checked it out a fair few times I don't think I've ever made a post, guess I didn't feel I had anything worth saying...
Anyways, I figured I'd add a bit of info on some Japanese producers and DJs since I have a bit of knowledge on the 'Eastern scene' [note: this isn't going to be an exhaustive list by all means, I'm just going to list the people I know are active in the scene in Tokyo (I have no experience in any other cities); its simply a useful start for anyone who plans to visit (when I went I had to dig from scratch, which is LONG if you don't speak japanese very well)]
Natives
First off, I gotta spotlight ENA - http://soundcloud.com/ena-iai
I'm probably a little biased since he's a mate of mine but, imho ENA's EASILY the most gifted producer I've encountered during my time in Japan. His beats are spot on, and his talents go wayyyy beyond the confines of dubstep and d&b. He's got some sneakily dark/twisted stuff hidden away too, so don't go thinking he's just another 'deep' guy... Keep an eye out for him
Heavy1 - http://soundcloud.com/heavy1
ok, so he's mainly d&b, but check his dubstep VIP of one of one of his popular tunes, I'm pretty sure he's got more dubstep hidden that he's sitting on...
'Gaijin'
There are a whole bunch of guys that aren't natively japanese but have lived in Japan long-enough (and been making beats there long enough) to be entitled to a mention here:
Major Dude - http://soundcloud.com/themajordude
Special mention here, another very gifted producer that does alot more than just dubstep under numerous alias (too many to mention in fact). I'd say dooobstep is merely his most recent area of experimentation...
There's a good enough start for you all... I'm sure I've forgotten a whole bunch of important people (皆さん、申し訳ありません)I'm sure as word gets around, anyone I've forgotten to include will give me a nudge after which I'll add them too.
Finally.... if you're in tokyo check out our 'Dubcake' event
