If you play deep stuff in Manchester, I'll love it. It depends on the venue to be honest though, and the crowd. Only one way to find out though.

but do you really wanna get booked playing crap you dont like??

(i'm not saying you do personally)

like Be-1ne said - its class getting to hear tunes you like on a big system,if you dont you can't expect anyone else to.
Nope. But at the same time id rather be having to drop a bit of stuff I wasnt so keen and cater to the crowd than not playing out at all. If you can get to play some of your favourite tracks mixed with some heavier stuff then i'd much rather do that than just be playing exactly what i want......in my bedroom.

Deep songs can have a lot of energy though, and if they have energy people are going to dance aren't they? Unless its a room full of brain dead chavs.

i was djing a house party two nights ago and towards the end of the set i switched from more heavy shit (sick as sin, serial killer) to deep stuff. when i mixed in anti war dub the crwd were loving it, had about 50 people (tere were only 60 or so at said party) breaking into a skank, or just generaly rocking the fuck at. two young guys ran behind me and grabbed the pa system, dragging it onto the dancefloor so they could hear it better.

trust me, if its done well people will love deep dub.

to be honest the last couple of times I've played out my tunes which i would say are well deep are the ones that have really grabbed people. My one dub i dropped mid set and to be fair shit it a bit as it had potential to clear the floor and it drew more people in. the weight on the bottom end massively surprised me as well.

Deeper styles seem to be appealing to more people now, a lot of people i know have been asking for recommendations of who to listen to for that style because they're bored of midrange, can only be a good thing cause it means its appreciated more at nights.

i Agree with the comment about bass weight, if the tunes have got heavy low end, there gna hit twice as hard as the jump up shiz.

Play the tunes you feel they're good, play the way you feel them should be played!!! If you're good at doing it, why shouldn't people respond?

think about the timing of ur set in the whole scheme of the night. if ur the first DJ to play, an entire set of tear out could peak the mood too early

EXACTLY, people just dun know. Once they get hit with in the chest with some weight, and not the eardrums with some cack, it'll move them. That being said, some super ambient stuff that doesn't exactly push a system, may very well clear the dancefloor. I saw Matty G drop Rufage for 1000 underage pilled up brosteppas and they wen't absolutely apeshit bonkers, hooping and hollering. Hovercraft, Disko Rekka, and even All of a Sudden got equally massive reactions, as did every one of Matty's own tunes, none of which resemble anything close to tearout. ViVEKs Track puts it into perspective nicely
"People can still stand next to the speaker, it doesn't hurt, people do respond to that bottom frequency, you know people have to feel it" I fully agree. Truth - Masters of the Stars gets an INSANE reaction during my sets, and I always play to a room full of brosteppers. And you should see the girls reaction when I drop Wut by Girl Unit. I play what I think the crowd wants to hear, but I still only play stuff that I love, otherwise I get no joy out of it.

I think you should deal methadone and play tunes by Doctor P / Nero in your sets from now on.

Certain tunes still smash it and always will do.
People always seem happy to hear anti war dub/earth a run red/skeng/shattered/I dont give a dub
If you don't beleive me, go to stink like sock & watch T_! play
He smashes it as good as any other man with old tunes and new

as part of a well put together set they are nearly a must have in my opinion.

You cant just play banger after banger, doesnt work.
