This is all well and good, but a problem seems to be that geological/early life evidence seems to imply that the first DNA molecules (at least in our planet's family tree) were formed on earth... it's not certain, but we've tellingly not found them anywhere else whereas we have found lots of other permutations of organic molecule. Life elsewhere could just as easily be based around a different organic structure... or a silicon structure...
DNA was our means, I'm not convinced it's the only available option... take off those blinkers before looking into the distance, parson.

I don't know if I'm missing the point but if this stuff is real and replicatable, does this mean that DNA can exert quantum properties "at will" or when it needs to perpetuate its' own existence?
It is an exciting prospect if this is the case, as it does give credence to the argument that life can drive itself forward for whatever means. What is driving this force is the mystery...
