I am traveling to Croatia from United States. Any advice would be GREAT. I am confused on how the money workds and the transportation. What airport would everyone reccommend being the closest and easiet to Outlook? Also read a Taxi would be easier than bus with 4+ people?

Sorry just kinda found that funny. It's not like its a complete different world in Europe!

Browse the actual Outlook site. They have a bit dedicated to travel. There numerous transfers you can buy from Airport to Outlook and Outlook to Airport for like £4 each way. tops. it looks like. (may be wrong) It gives you a variety of airports you could fly to if that helps..

i went last year. i'm from chicago. granted, i was in spain for about a month and a half before i went over to croatia, so travel was much easier, but just some ideas..

one is to fly RT london and find transportation from there, whether it be sunshine bus or a flight to italy/croatia/slovenia & then an airport transfer coach. personally i think the latter sounds more appealing as i'm not good with long road trips and 36 hours is a fucking long time, especially on the way back.

another is to fly RT rome and take a train up to venice or trieste. the train system is awesome in italy, very cheap (under 20 euro pretty much anywhere you'd want to go), and all you'd have to worry about paying is the coach to and from the airport, not an additional flight. i took the bus from venice last year and it wasn't bad at all.

the last is to fly anywhere you can find cheap flights in europe and find airfare to one of the transfer airports in italy/croatia/slovenia from there. this works well if you'd like to explore some other parts of europe (amsterdam generally has cheap RT flights as well) & you might be more likely to track down cheap airfare down the line when the brits have booked up all the flights from the UK that week.

in terms of money, they had an ATM at the campsite but it ran out of money at one point. i would advise using an ATM as soon as you cross over the croatian border (the bus makes a stop if you're taking an airport transfer) and taking out a large amount of money. you have to be careful with it and make sure you don't blow hundreds of kuna by drunkenly dropping them, but you avoid potentially costly ATM fees over and over again, and you don't have to deal with more withdrawals while you're there. inside the festival you'll exchange money for tokens to buy food/drink/etc. last year it was about 7 kuna to the dollar if i remember correctly. stuff is cheap. you'll be happy.

Looks like we're not going to Italy now. We're just gunna go skate Pula the week before as Croatia is so much cheaper than Italy. I'll be the one with the massive purple mohawk. Lol.

Are the apartments reasonably priced? 4 of us are going together, are they big enough?
Most people enjoyed their apartments last year. Book early-ish though.

Thinking about driving or taking the train from Holland but can't decide between the two, anyone know what the go is with searches at the borders?

I booked flights to venice on ryanair 4 days before Outlook and they were £114. Then we had to get the coach to Pula, and that was 48 euors returns. If you get transfers with the festival, they might be cheaper.

I heard people had sex on the sunshine bus.

I went over the boarder by coach and they didn't do body searches. I think they searched our coach though. I remember having to get off the coach at the border.

So what is the full damage including flights, appartments, tickets, and interior travel that isn't the sex bus? Anyone ever driven from UK? Mega road trip bizzle!
