Birthdays, Xmas's etc i always ask my missus for VST's and instruments. I always put a few pound away in a jar aswell to save for the more expensive stuff and hardware.

Dude... I'm not complaining, just looking for a solution. I realize that theres a good
chance it isnt working because it is a rip. As i've stated previously Ableton along with
ALL of my other vst's work perfectly, just bums me out a little that massive cant do the same.

is the best method to dabble in electronic music and give me an introductory experience
without having to spend a bunch of money.

Oh I definitely understand this as well. When I first got started I was dirt poor so I pirated a copy of Nuendo (yeah the $2000 software, haha) and got started. I'm definitely not anti-piracy, I think it's a valuable way to get hands-on experience with a product before shelling out the bones, but I definitely encourage purchasing for the long run.

Well if you're not ready to buy the software, you can't expect a solution to your problem.
You say you're a beginner - get a different synth, this time freeware, then play around with it, learn what all the knobs do, then maybe go back to Massive when you're no longer a beginner.
I don't know about anyone else, but I think Massive does 75% of the work for you and doesn't actually teach you a lot. Get a synth with shit presets and learn as much as you can about synthesis. Then buy Ableton and Massive, and complain to the developers if you still can't get it to work properly

@Eradicouture right on man. just learning the ropes and getting a feel for it, i definitely plan on purchasing legit software for the long run.
@£10 Bag yeah i feel you on that, definitely not trying to limit myself to massive. i've been trying to get my hands on various other vst's and just try to get a feel for everything.

Its most likely because your using a cracked version of Massive...Try deleting a file called "NIMassiveDatabase_UL" which can be found under c://(Your User Name)/AppData(hidden folder)/Local/NativeInstruments/Massive
That helped mine when it stopped working after a few weeks of use.
