I typically mangle the hell out of resampled synths... so its like, best of both worlds, if that makes sense?

That's not true. You can synthesize a breakbeat.
a breakbeat by definition is a live drum recording usually from a record which is sampled and chopped and or looped. you can make beats with synths but you cannot create breakbeats.

What if you sampled and chopped or looped a live synth recording in the same way though?
then you'd still be sampling it, not synthesizing it.

Recently i've been starting to use samples more and more, been slowly building a sample library for a while. I do love synthesis tho.
