Cubase SE does all you could possibly need unless you're using 64 channels and not bouncing down. I've never had issues with it on my mac.

there are other decent alternatives... like Synapse Orion, which is a Reason/FL kinda hybrid, really cool program, fast&easy, handles vst and its builtx-n plug-ins are dope. Another one which worth looking at is Mackie Tracktion... I'm totally in love with this cutie. It's approach is similar to Ableton in the sense that it tries something new, they tried to create a sequencer where you don't need various windows like mixer, fx etc, but everything is done on one screen. And it has sexy built-in fx too.

Fl is perfect for electronic music production (with features not to be found elsewhere like the almighty granulizer) if you can get used to its sequencer... if not u still can rewire it or use it as a vst in any sequencer. I have a few friends who got their stuff released on various labels and they use only fruity with a bunch of vsts.

Ive been using reason for about 2 1/2 years now and can do anyting you can do with VSTs using only reason machines....

yeah reason really is underrated sometimes though I doubt that you would be able to produce a wavetable or additive synth sound in reason... But still it has its advantages, you are not tempted to get newer and newer shit and you really learn to use your soft. And there are quite a few big names who are still using reason and their stuff gets released.

not so sure about the dubstep producers out there but i know alot of the DnB cats are still rolln' with reason, along with other software obviously but reason is still the platform...

if you wanna hear some damn good production ALL done on reason, apart from mastering check out

in the grand scale of things, cubase isnt fiddly at all IMO.

if you want fiddly, get Logic!

I use Reason 3.0 for my dubs, then Cubase or Logic to mix it when its created
