surprisingly, a total of ZERO posts in this particular thread have anything to do with "cack vs bass" or anything remotely resembling that dead horse of an argument.
But, I wasnt critiquing your lack of organization or lack of content, I was telling you you need exclusive material or you ARE just reposting youtube vids, no matter what creative text spin you put behind it.shlazzer wrote:I appreciate the actual constructive nature of what you said. I'm certainly not just posting the most popular video of the week.Basic A wrote: Yes, it is. My friends and I maintain a blog and post only exclusive content/interviews/mixes/free320's, and on the rare occasion I do post something that isnt exclusive to us, I am posting preview clips and reviews of tracks sent in directly from the labels who are publishing them. Granted this keeps us from posting as often as we could if we were simply reposting popular material, however, its the price you pay to offer your readers new, interesting, material which will keep them checking back for more.
If you want to start a blog great. Dont make it reposts of the most popular videos on youtube this week. That makes no sense, your not informing anyone, your repositng what is already highly popular.
This isnt about midrange/filth vs. sub-heavy/deep... I thoroughly love both sides of the fence. They are pointing out that your blog has nothing to offer that they couldnt get typing 'dubstep' into youtube.
The real drive behind the blog is related to my initial experiences with dubstep; I didn't know who to search for, I didn't know what good tracks were, I didn't know much of anything.
My goal is to introduce tracks that I enjoy, in an attempt to expose visitors to popular artists, and newer material. I am constantly developing my personal means of being ahead of the curve, so that the material is always (if possible) new, and engaging.
I hope that, with time, the utility of my idea will grow. I understand that right now, it is pretty stupid to go to a website that has like, 14 random songs. With more content comes organization, and with organization comes clarity; it is definitely a work in progress.
Fortunately, I think my audience is less in tune with the dubstep scene than the community here. Clearly my site is far too behind the times for you guys LOL.
It might not be cack vs bass to you, but most of the other posts in this thread certainly are![]()
If you all are already familiar with the music that I have posted, then don't listen to it! Recognize that there are still a LOT of people out there that don't know who Skrillex is, love him or hate him. If I can show 6 people 3 specific artists to follow on youtube/twitter/facebook/google/life/interweb, then I have accomplished my goal.
Do you have any support for what you said? Or do you just like dishing out insults, and then suggesting suicide? I can only imagine the kind of person you are IRLMCwillywarmer wrote:your website is shit, the tunes on it are shit and you seem like a complete tnuc from what you posted back.
fuck off and hang your self you subhuman.
I can see why they are offended by the dub god thing... because Rusko doesnt make 'dub' he makes 'dubstep' ... and there is a huge difference, one is an organic music genre from the late 80's and early 90's and one is a modern form of electronic dance music. Itd be like calling Limp Bizkit classic rock, when they are a modern band taking a very slight amount of influence from classic rock. Get why they are bitching about it now? Not because of Rusko's midrangedness or nonmidrangedness, but because of your SEVERE misuse of a term...shlazzer wrote:at some point, you do need to repost popular content in order to consolidate all of that content into one page, no?
(btw, every single post in here that says 'your music sucks' or anyone posting a giant robot with his hand on his face or anyone posting about 'rusko - dub god' etc are all bitching about mid range cack. reading comprehension ITT)
It does, yes. And herein lies the problem - you're not the first person to do this, and as such your blog is adding no value. Try Googling 'dubstep blog' and clicking on the first link. It's not your site, but is nearly identical in content.shlazzer wrote:does it NOT make sense to post popular tracks from a genre on a blog dedicated to that genre?
