Have you setup nova on a seperate channel to your vst instrument?
Setup one channel for nova.
Setup another channel for your synth.
Nova 3 as the send and receive on the synth channel.

Whack some azian strings on the vst and let the rovers play.
It`s an inspirational vst.
I use it a lot now to add stabs that vary every bar.

I had to install a MIDI loopback driver to get a similar plug to work the first time...
...install this, and then it shows up as a midi device which you then just enable as a midi input. Hope that helps.

It works perfectly in Reaper.
Setup nova midi channel as the send
synth as a receive on a new channel
add rover to hear sound

Here`s a little exercise in creating a Nova 3 chain with Tonecarver's new Harmony Rotator adding harmonics and Chordspace adding additional notes and an arp based on the circle of fifths.
All on the same channel, nova 3 with 2 rovers controlling everything except drums.
