my mixings fine when im sober...i like itgwa wrote:Sheff wrote:just had another go and im beyond terrible
i cant work out in my head which tunes drifting ahead/behind of the other then when i do work it out its still impossible to get them both in sync
i over-correct too much everytime, to the point i can never ever get the right pitch.
bullshit
not to sound patronising but what's your mixing like sober? i can't beatmatch half as good as i can when i'm tanked
snypadub wrote:Snypa's mixing tips: don't mix jump up dnb stoned: just a bad combo.
Do mix the, 'dungeon sound', when you're high. The mood a good spliff puts you in makes you especially resceptive to being remarcably creative (and shit at using your keyboard) and this is essential to a decent, 'dungeon sound mix'.
Always mix ukfunky stoned! We all know that 9 times out of ten, being stoned puts you in the mood for fun and you get into fun things a lot more than sober, Ukfunky is fun to mix. Infact, it is so much fun that your sense of enjoyment and disregard for rules of mixing whilst, somehow, managing to mix perfectly; is conveyed directly to your listeners.
Bit too high right now to communicate through language effectively so i'll go and record a 15 min minni mix to demonstrate my point then up it on here

thats nonsense, its not like that at all. talk to any musician that plays on any instrument to a high standard and they'll tell you that sometimes it just works and sometimes it just doesnt. same with sports men, writers, actors, comedians, fucking anything. god damn its the same with riding a bike - sometimes you fall off, sometimes you dont. its all about your state of mind, energy levels, concentration, enthusiasm etc etc etc.
i generally find if the first mix doesnt come off then the whole thing is doomed. often i'll try one tune, fuck it up and just stop and leave for a bit. only problem is you cant really do that in a club...
Sorry if you's can't mixSheff wrote:laurent__duval wrote:capo ultra wrote:mixing's like riding a bike, once you can do it's second nature

and im the same, if the first mix is shit then it automatically puts a downer on it all and just makes me think "fuck it, whats point in putting the effort in now if ive already fucked it up".
mostly i dont give a fuck and just carry on like normal though, depends what mood im in
no i'm not saying its comparable to playing an instrument to a high standard, what i'm saying is EVERYBODY has off days, except you by the sounds of it. would you have me believe that since you learned how to beat match you've never got it wrong, not once, never? i find that hard to believe.capo ultra wrote:Sorry if you's can't mixSheff wrote:laurent__duval wrote:capo ultra wrote:mixing's like riding a bike, once you can do it's second nature

and as if your implying that making two tracks play at the same speed is in any way comparable to playing an instrument, let alone to a high standard
also as if your implying that you could just forget how to ride a bike
