Why wouldn't someone that was into EDM from the late 80's early 90's not enjoy dubstep now.
Dubsteps also such a wide genre that different parts of it will appeal to an older audience that's exposed to it. I stumbled across dubstep almost by accident after not really paying much attention to dance genre's for 10 years or so but there's so much good music I don't see why there would be any age barrier to enjoying it.

we get lots of older fans at submotion orchestra gigs...
and they're not just peoples mums and dads.
we also get people who are too young to get in - one guy cried when he got turned away for being under-age at jazz cafe. poor kid.

Who cares what codgers think.
They can't hear properly,
their taste is gellidly geriatric
warped by degraded genetics
and they're gunna die soon.

If I told my dad it was reggae, he would probably be vibing off it hard. If I say it's dubstep, he thinks it's shit.

My dad digs Burial & Mala and he's 52. I think anyone with a genuinely open mind towards music can find something they like (or at least appreciate) in most genres, like true music lovers listen to everything right?
This question's kinda the opposite of people thinking young folk don't like jazz or classical music, and I've been listening to that kinda stuff as well as blues since I was like 13.
