I love hiphop, and as for Odd Future I already posted something like this on the hip hop board. But yeah I like them in small doses and they are WAY too hyped.
and as for everybody buying Supreme hats? that annoys me so fucking much I mean come on get some originality.

To me Tyler sounds like he trying to do this vibe lyrically sometimes

add rape references here and there and the odd attempt to be serious

to this

Or this

And you got Tyler's sound maybe?

When a fresh rapper hits the scene with tight battle raps, clever punchlines and a multi rhyeme scheme flow, he'll be praised for being a breath of fresh air in hip-hop. Never mind that has already been done by The D.O.C, Rakim, Pharoahe Monch, Eminem, Chino XL, and so on.

When kids rap about rape, murder and torture. They're suddenly ripping off the couple of names (Brotha Lynch Hung, Gravediggaz, Geto Boys, Eminem).

Let's be honest. 90% of what makes a rapper isn't the lyrics, isn't the flow or delivery. It's the style. And much like Eminem didn't sound like Brotha Lynch Hung when he started out, Odd Future don't sound like them.

Anyway. Earl's the best member of OFWGKTA. Hodgy and Tyler are great and Left Brain's a good producer. Mike G ain't bad either. Their biggest problem isn't doing anything other rappers have done before, but a lack of quality control. Hip-hop isn't exactly known for all killer and no filler, but Odd Future kinda take that to new extremes. Some external production from some good producers (Celph Titled, Insight, FlyLo, Dr. Dre) would make them much better.
