Ben - I think you mis-heard your friend at work...
He said you were supposed to give it to me... you know, for showing you the magical site that is known as the Worcester Countryside Centre park.

Amazing, I thionk you'd love it.
Tbh, I've only scratched the surface with it so far. Blue is my weapon of choice right now. But even just butchering the presets on Largo has been throwing great some great sounds. Have a look on Youtube for Largo stuff

Every synth has its thing, the thing that makes it special, what is largo's "thing"? That one little thing that is unique? Is it the wavetables, the drive on that filter, WHAT?

I dunno... It's pretty?

Makes Rob Papen stuff look and sound like toys. Stunning GUI. Depth to the sound on it is remarkable, I really need to get stuck into it over the Summer.

Well, had a ten minute play, found a PSU; sounds pretty nice. Bit digital. Will be good for pads, and harsh techno noises by all accounts, def not a warm analogue soundalike. Definitely a useful addition tho.
However, im seriosuly running out of inputs on my soundcard, need to get an ADAT expander i think. Damn i wish id got the 8 input version when i bought a new one last year.

At the time i only had one x0xb0x.
Def something to spend a bit of time with, menu system is pretty self evident. Sounds good sequenced from the (a!) x0xbox.
Def not a bad freeby tho.

Was planning on buying it a few months ago, but eventually I went with the Doepfer Dark Energy, which i'm very happy with.
Yeah definitely not a bad freeby, but is worth the cash you think? Would love to hear some audio clips, if you ever get the chance.

yeah, will def post up some noises when i get a chance, got the inlaws staying with me at the moment (

) so not sure when.
Id much prefer a dark energy personally, analogue and expandable, but a blofeld for free isnt bad. Perhaps i can sell it on ebay

Lucky tit. I had to pay for mine. Get the 1.15 patch so you can make your own wavetables! And always use filter drive.

yeah, thanks man, dled the 1.15 firmware, but documentation is a bit sparse... as in none.
where do you find info as to newer firmware features etc?
Please dont say i have to dl all the firmwares in between 1.04 and 1.15.
Ive skimmed the PDF manual but doesnt seem to be in there either.
Cheers

You just need 1.15. And documentation is very sparse but if you google 'blofeld 1.15 changes' there's a blog with the details. The biggest changes are the user tables (you have to get a third-party app to make and transfer these, it's floating around the web) and better syncing of LFOs to MIDI clock (which didn't work correctly before, making wobbles difficult).

Many thanks, appreciate it.
Had a quick go last night, some dirty fun with the comb filters, but i did get a few glitches while tweaking fast. Not really delved deep but it does seem a bit 'vst in a box'. Output volume is also very quiet... not an issue once i get my mixer sorted.
Some nice sounds in there tho, and lots of them.
Cheers
