All about the hyperSaws!!!!

i got wat people r sayin about sampling!

i personally beleive that sampling a d+b producers distorted bass, and other bass sounds is a bit stupid!
like u can tell a tech itch track cos of its bass, likewise with dillinja, raiden, etc..... u r kinda stealing sum 1 elses hook. and a thing that makes sum 1's track their own!

espicially as it is so easy to make that kinda bass n e way!
would it not make more sense to make a bass of your own, or sumthin similar??

sampling a 70's funk record is not the same as sampling a 2005 d+b record!!!!

As for the sonic quality of sampled bass......... hmmm!!!! would only sample of a high quality wav.
word to that

i use some of the samples i make for my dnb tracks in dubstep as they fit well and some of the same production techniques too. instead of sampling a calyx bass if you like it so much make it. if you cant make it there are a million threads explaining how to, if you do sample it direct make the tune own it as part if its sound but not reliant of it as the main sound. sorry stoned bullshit post, waffle etc. :)

I think early Mampi tracks (like The 1, ouch) had some of the sickest DB beats I have ever heard, very his own style. Later, sadly, he just became the regular 9 to 5 DB producer.
The Journey by swift is dark as you like  (flip of the one).

Ed Rush and Opticals tune Bacteria was all samples of the rizing drum and bass samples cd, infact the whole wormhole album was to wot i know of.
To be honest iv had this debate numerous of times about blatant sampling. Personally i think if your going to be using a sample straight up as it is then your not being that creative, but hey, it might fit your tune so well that u cant not use it as it is. So many big producers have done this that u wouldnt suspect that iv reallly looked up to. Me personally will not use a sample straight up, i will at least cut it up to my own taste and take a part of it that i think is dope or twist it up. But nowdays a lot of producers dont even make there own bass, they will sample a patch and chuck it in a sampler and mangle it up and process it etc. Dunno wot im trying to get at with this, jus thought that would be some interesting information for you lot.
Oh yeah, watch out for the Repulsive Wavz 2 Sample CD, some very very sick sounds and breaks etc, 4mz is jus soughting out the distribution, been sending me over numerous bits and pieces, will be coming very soon.

True. Once I found that both tracks that I liked from a 12" released on Fabio's label had samples from... a promo CD free with Future Music magazine, hahaha.
