For one, you're out of your depth atm, and two - it's not something you like to make.

Re: Commercial dubstep
yeah, me and jr have already got it all set so we'll see where it takes us. The thing is, I have no profile as an artist/dj around my area at all, and hes quite famous/well known round here. so its just a case of any promotion is good promotion for me. I don't think I'm out of my depth, I just would say this style of dubstep isn't my forte or preference. But I am enjoying the challenge, and its doing wonders for my creativity on my other material anyway so I think this project for me as an artist, will be far more beneficial than detrimental.

Well consider this. If he manages to churn out a sick tune, is it any less of a sick tune because it's Brostep?NRHc wrote:and furthermore, even if you do get exposure, just ask yourself..Is it really the kind of exposure you want?(if you hate the brostep scene)amphibian wrote:tbh I'd go back and say "no thanks". I think it's a good thing that producers are prepared to test things out. Versatility is the key to success imo.

Re: Commercial dubstep
As someone who composes for commercials at a studio (a lot of which is dubstep) I am going to say that what you mentioned above is extremely foolish.Cheeky wrote:Iv been asked to make a commercial... but i would like to inject my style into it, to put my stamp on it and also maybe make underground a bit more palatable to the mainstream....
If you want to get more work from this experience make exactly what the client wants, do these cheesey synths, hard hitting drums, overcompress the shit out of it all.
