Its clear a lot of people have a strong emotional response to the perversion of the sound. I think the main issue is that heads that got into the sound cause it was moody / minimal / dark etc. are now embarrassed to be associated with the crap that gets hundreds of thousands of plays on youtube and radio 1 airtime, and that sound is now dominating and hindering the growth of the deep / dark etc. sound as more and more producers jump on the filth train and more and more events book those types of artists. Hence why this type of thread is so prevalent on this board and why this argument will keep coming up time and time again.

I agree that both styles should separate. Brostep in one corner, Dubstep in the other.
I also agree that Brostep isn't a development. It's an off-shoot. I don't even regard it as a sub-genre, it's a completely different thing imo. The deep stuff is still around and developing on it's own. And the same can be said for Brostep, you do get the likes of Skrillex and Datsik, but then you get the likes of Flux Pavilion, or Bar9. Many different sounds within each to make up these sub-genres.
Though, I do find it kind of sad to bang out an entire page about this. If you don't like it and you want to let the world know, don't come off as a whiny tnuc, attacking individuals. It just looks unprofessional. Things like this should be conducted as means of education rather than an idiot going off on a mad one..

Music's subjective. Surely my top 10 tunes are different to everyone elses.
I personally think skrillex is a wanker. More because he was a gimp emo singer before he made electronic tunes to piss me off.
Surely no-one can deny there are shit producers in London? And with Noah D, DJG, Babylon System, 12th Planet, Nick Argon, Widdler all from North America/USA, surely this guys just a bell-end like all of us, but just thinks his opinion is fact

Dubstep has survived Chrispy, Borgore, SaladUK, and other silly remixes. Dubstep is too strong now, nothing can tarnish its reputation.

how could you make sweeping statements generalising a whole nation of producers as ruining your precious little genre. i take it he hasnt listened to anything UKF puts out? all it is is these 'screechy mid bass lines' he talks about and a good 90% of it come from BRITSH PRODUCERS. this dudes acting a little too patriotic when theres so many british record labels contradicting everything hes saying (circus records, never say die)
