I was actually just dropping flyers in vinyl yesterday and the word from the owner is that given a few weeks, they will be swimming in dubstep.

Keep on the more indie shops like scratch and Zulu as well, things pop up in there on a regular basis that would surprise.

Really everything that happens in Van gets plenty of coverage here. My web presense is limited but Kuma is a forum fiend and in terms of promoters/producers and DJ's the scene is tiny ( 20 to 25 folks maybe? ) and once you hit a bigger party youve probably met most of them. The scene is amazing right now. Most of the people coming out to shows either havent heard of Dubstep or have only a vague idea and lots of excitement.

Hey, I like to have my promo angles covered.
This is by far the best place for Vancouver info, most folk end up here, on nwdnb or picking word of mouth up off of myspace or just the ear to the ground. Word travels well in the west..

how was the kid kameleon show???
had to work late, too tired to make it out. bit gutted about that.

i've actually been ordering some of the DS (and minimal tech) for Boomtown on Burrard. Just moved here from Vic in May.

Turnout was not what we had hoped but with less than two weeks promo time and a major family illness to deal with, I wasn't exactly expecting much.

On the other hand, Ripley and Kid Kameleon were fucking awesome (for those who stuck around), the sets will be posted in the mixes section shortly and they will be back soon.

Two year coming up in a few months in currently being finalized. Been in the works for a long time now, new sound, new space, same avoidance of the same old thing. Fresh ideas being the key phrase.
