Any details on that? Made in massive I'm guessing

yeah i made it with massive. it was a simple reese with i think one modern talking osc or something similar added. from then on its just notch filtering, low pass filtering, distortion, phasers, flangers, wow filter and a really short delay to give it some kind of metallic sound.

This is a collection of different sounds i got out of my granular synth in max/msp, the source sounds are all feild recordings.

i like that one djjake! really cool stuff! hutyluty, that one sounds real interesting too.
heres a reese sound i just made.
Soundcloud
did it by 1) making a reese (im sure you know how) 2) giving it formants manually with an eq 3) automated 4 notch filters around 4) distortion, phaser, chorus 5) Vocodex really helps bring out the movement in a reese for all you FL-heads.

That quite nice

Sound is a patch I made in the Bazille alpha, with a touch of classic delay/reverb, sequenced with Reaktor. I would go into more detail, but I don't total understand how it's made tbh

Me talking crap pitched about

I like yours to, and this thread
Another one...

Was just messing about, and then thought it sounded abit like a old dial up tone, so I tried to make it sound abit more like one. It's sound source is 4 sine oscillators, and one white noise generator, with lots of modulation, and just a few light effects.

Growl just before the drop. I want it deeper and heavier but it's on it's way.

Wow man this sound preatty cool. You can feel the emotion in it! Would you mind giving some details on how its made?

This sound great! Quick question, when you automate the notch filters is there any technique or is it just completely random? This is my attempt
Soundcloud and i tried to make an interesting sweeping design of the filters but i dont think it worked very well.

set up your bass patch, get your distortion on, add a notch filter, start knob-fiddling and record for a minute or two. Go back, pick out the good bits - resample, distort again, add another notch, rinse and repeat

You'll eventually learn how some sounds are created based on notch filter cutoff/resonance automation.

Usually I just go random but im not experienced with reeses. I'm sure the pro's know what their doing when they do it.
btw, your reese isnt bad. but put it down an octave an see what that sounds like.

@ 0.02 it sounds like someone knocking on a door I like that, would like it even more if the knocks got faster

Ok, thanks. I was using an 8 band eq with 8 notches. How many notches are thereee usaully?

Thanks! I'll try that out. You should definately turn your reese into one, because it sounded really good.

My apologies - and yeah great idea of a thread imo - makes those who have created cool sounds a bit more pro-active. Also, sometimes it's hard to tell how a sound is made by someone else
Um - using Massive (though similar effect could be achieved using FM8 or any other FM synth), using 3 separate waveforms - one of them being sonic. The exact wavetable position is important, as only certain parts give that growly sound of that wave form. That's combined with 2 saw/pulse waves - one is about mid-way through, the other is 100% saw. They're both 1 octave higher than the sonic waveform. Now, I then have a low-pass 4 filter, with cutoff set at around 45%. I have an lfo set quite slowly, started at the ramp-up of the sinewave lfo waveform. This gives the effect of a slight "hit", before ramping up for the growl. This is then put through a classical tube, about 25% wet and 70% drive, and then had some eq, saturation, compression, and reverb applied post-patch.
Hope that helps!
As for your notch question - usually 1, with about 60-70% resonance. But just play with it
