ordered 5 records off chemical last week, total w/ shipping and VAT in the UK was 30 pounds... once i switched the destination to USA and the VAT was dropped and shipping adjusted the new total was 28 pounds... awesome... dont mind waiting tbh, still cheaper to order the records in the UK from chemical/redeye/bleep/surus and have them shipped over. OP says 30 pounds shipping where the hell are you buying records from where they charge THAT much for shipping?!

i think i meant 30 dollars...i had placed an order from sounds of the universe and the shipping came out to 19 or 20 pounds.

thats ridiculous, just go with chemical or redeye man. best prices, best catalogues. if you buy more than 5 records you usually come out better than someone in the UK that has to pay VAT, the savings is worth the 8-9 day or so wait imo

Great seller, I've purchased more than my fair share from this vendor. Highly recommended. Reasonable prices as well if you purchase more than 1.

I still buy most of my plates from Redeye, good prices and great shipping rates. I tend to avoid ordering one at a time and instead order in bulk, it seems to save on the shipping a bit.

Also, check out Bleep.com. Pretty sure they aren't US based, but I've found a number of hidden gems on this site.

with redeye you can put records on hold just in case one limited pressing pops up and you can't order more at the time. then next time you order tell em to ship your reserved items.
