Some unmentioned:

Yakuza 3 (I think you may find this to be a gem)
Gran Turismo 4

They're probably unmentioned as they're both Playstation titles.

Also:
Bully Scholarship Edition
Crackdown 1

Also, you might want to check out the 2d Castlevania platformers on XBLA. They're cheap, non-linear, and have heavy RPG elements.
Farcry 2 got boring for me.
I just drove up to things in my jeep and gunned them all down from the rear mounted gun.
Only hopped off occasionally to search for a guy hiding.
That sort of stuff doesn't fly on harder difficulties, especially if you opt to play it stealthy like I am. The game definitely isn't perfect, but I'd say it's worth a try.

 Sorry.

Have you ever played Hitman: Blood Money?

Not on XBLA.

:( That's a shame, there are some real gems on there. Is your Xbox not connected to the Internet or what?

Another Idea: Open world racing games like Midnight Club LA on Burnout Paradise.

Forza is worth a mention if you like driving games; its not open world but plenty of content to keep you busy for, well.. years.

Can pick it up for 15-20 quid preowned / 25 new.

Forza came with the console when I bought it. Never been a fan of driving games, but gave it a try. Sold it the next day.

You're a hard man to please.

Dragon Age 2 is a nice rpg but real time combat; maybe look at some game play videos of that?

Yeah, watched the game play demo and it seemed promising. Will consider it.

Watched a few more videos last night, seems more RPG and less action than I was after :(

Because I spend a large majority of my day using the Internet (either for work or at home) and talking to people via a headset. I don't want to do it when I'm playing videogames as well.

I enjoyed playing Crysis. Favourite game on 360 is probably Skate.

Most fun/most time spent on a game is either Team Fortress 2 or Counter-Strike but those should
be played on PC.

Just buy Mass Effect 1 and 2. Like, seriously stop what you´re doing and go and buy them now.

Some of the best 700 hours spent in my life, I think.
