Got my head around it to a degree, there's no "paste and replace" utility it seems to layer items instead of replacing them (and thus plays them both together I think), but using the synth and sampler in Reaper made the tune called "Midnight Watchman" in my signature, took my forever to get a wobble on the synth and automation is longer than Ableton but still figured most things out

On another note, if I was to splash the case what do people recommend?

Pro tools pride!
I don't care if you think it sucks for EDM.

Only have experience with Fl and Ableton, and to be honest I much prefer the former. If you were planning on buying a new daw, Fl is the cheaper of the two iirc :]

Jaydot - tweak a knob, open automation panel and select - show last touched fx parameter only. couldn`t be simpler.
Tweak cut-off.
Select automation lane and click param modulate to create a wobble with an lfo assigned.
that or you can also assign an lfo shape to the lane.
for the life of me I can`t remember how I did it, but it essentially draws a sine wav into the automation lane.
It also has the option to layer items or to replace.
It`s in the preferences.

@Electric head: It was more the automation of the envelopes being a bit fiddly compared to Ableton...
and you can't remember how you did it? That's no good then is it?

Well if you`re going to be that way I`ll go figure it out again.

Here you go SUCKA!!!
Sws extensions, padre's lfo generator.
Select the envelope and run the action.
It will draw an lfo on the lane.
