I'm not a big drinker at all (can feel one pint in a big way, am staggering after three) but ale tastes nicer to me than beer/lager/spirits!

Bugger. Is it that bad? I guess pub floors are quite sticky so it can't be that goodmVI wrote:I spilt ale all over mine a couple of months ago. Arrow keys still ain't right£10 Bag wrote:Spilt loads of ale on my keyboard last night![]()

Don't mind if it's my keyboard, it's black anyway so you can't really see if it's dirty.
Keyboards in the lab at uni are all white keyed thin apple ones, you can almost see the fingerprints of the last person who used it on them. They're pretty grim, I think they're only cleaned once a year as well.

I have spilled beer over my macbook numerous times. Astonishingly none of the keys are fucked.

You can buy air in a can you clean this shit out but some peoples keyboards are so strew. Used to work in curry's and had some gross old bloke come in, had his laptop for less than 2 months and needed it looked at. I opened it up and it looked like he'd done nothing but eat fried chicken off of it, wank all over it and then roll a cigarette. I told him where to go and what to do and he wasn't impresed. I even suggested bringing in some marigolds or I wont touch it

dirty keyboards are the devil
Re: Does anyone else hate dirty keyboards?
I hoovered my keyboard once and lost the "shift" key on the right handside.

I have always wanted to try putting a dirty keyboard in the dishwasher. Never have, totally seems like it would ruin it. Apparently lots of people claim it works.
I have a fancy keyboard so I'm not willing to try it. If it was like a cheap keyboard? Totally yes.

Sounds like it woulnd't work, But then I think when people spill things into their keyboard it is just the fact they are connected to power and things get shorted that causes the issue. If it wasn't connected and had a chance to dry out then i'd imagine it would be fine.
I spilled half a pint of fizzy vimto into my macbook. Luckily had insurance but it would absolutely fine, I only handed it to the insurers because the keys got stock when it started to dry. They just replaced everything basically which was nice of them, Especially as they gave me 2GB RAM extra and a new HDD double the size of the old one, and the old one back in a sealed bag.

You can`t beat the tactile feeling of hammering away at keys.firky wrote:I tried a touch screen keyboard at a tech fair a few years ago. It was good but it felt like typing on a bathroom tile.
It`s like a typewriter.
Hell, even my Nokia N8 gives a small vibration every time you touch a key.
