Grime has in my opinion MCs with a better flow, but Hip Hop usually has better backing tracks. grimes tracks sound shamefully cheap and amateur at times, and thats coming from somebody who likes grime.

That's the point, Grime is supposed to be cheap. As long as there's a thuggish sounding rapper spitting in weird rhythms over a thumb and a snap, it's Grime.

Nah man, You can still do Grime and not have it sound cheap, its just theres less emphasis on quality of production within the scene, its almost all about the bars.

I'm pretty sure when I saw four tet one time he dropped a drake tune. I was suprised really cause I wrote it off as my missus played some and it sounded wank tbf, but on a system it was alright, the tracks you've posted here are totally different to what I heard though, quite suprised like OP said they were at the sounds, have fun with your challenge! :)

yeah, actually i think drake has some REALLY wack stuff that is materialistic/stupid, but he occasionally has some very insightful/human lyrics. the guy has nothing wrong with him, he's just conditioned to the system
