but yeah i didnt ask about your friend's college course in music, did I? i asked if you knew anyone at HARL or NAL....

seriously...the National Acoustics Laboratory in Australia does big moves and defines one of the 2 dominant hearing aid fitting strategies in the world ... a scientist from that lab could par your friend's music prof for hours and hours and hours without even getting out of his lawnchair

+1 for Koss, although wasn't the original post question- they aren't in ear. Also, they are really bad at blocking any external noise, so much so that they are useless for a london commute on the tube.

Honestly can't rate these enough as far as in-ear headphones go, only cost about £15, REALLY good bass tolerance (listened to 'blood on my hands' and it pretty much rattled my brain out through my nose) and they block out ambient noise well enough that i use them as earplugs when im drumming more often than i use my actual earplugs

Yeah, for christmas I'm probably going to get some good over the head or in ear ones. The only reason I get the in ear ones are for school. Its just a lot more convienient to be able to put them in my jacket then wear em around my neck and there's a lot less of a chance of them breaking. Its also easier to hide under my long hair in class cause the teachers are real anal about that

:z: Its funny though, when I'm in class I see kids rocking those beats by dre in ears , and I'm dying inside, because my 70$ Klipsch earbuds have better bass responce than their 250$ beats. If your gonna invest in earbuds I would recommend those any day. Also they block out so much noise, when I'm walking in the hallways as long as I have my volume at 60% or more I can olny hear my music.

16, yea beats are everywhere in my school. I tip my hat to the people that are wearing those Sony headphones. Oh and Skrillex is everywhere too. The first thing someone will ask me when I have my music out is "You listening to Skrillex?" :cornlol:

Klipsch image S4. Those are the cheapest, the S4i have a mic and control for your iPod.

yeah those s4's look good, although a little pricey. if i dont get an around the ear one, i might get those for chrsitmas
what do you think about these
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... 1666308166
or these
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... 1666372571
is it worth it to get the more expensive ones, or are they pretty much the same?
and do you think those or s4's are better?

I haven't used either of those, but the sony extra bass ones look pretty nice. Its really down to which you would prefer. I can recommend the Klipsch, but not the Sony ones. The only problem I have heard about the Sony extra bass line is that the highs can seem muddy. There is also the Klipsch S3 which are cheaper. Check out Klipschs site

Oh and I found the Klipsch S4 really cheap on amazon

thanks. does the driver diameter matter a lot? i mean, the s4's have an 8.5 and the s3's have an 5.8, but my skullcandy titans have an 11. i might return my skullcandy's and get those used amazon s4's, but not the s4i one.

Driver size somewhat matters. I also had the skullcandy titans, and the Klipsch S4 have much better bass. Even though they have a smaller driver, the bass on them hits harder than the skullcandy headphones.
