my holy grail of coats.
thats absolutely incroyable, i've got one similar but less 'mack-ish' and more fitted, without the devastating tartan pattern

im all about retro/vintage jackets myself

but i'd LOVE one of these Image

not about £250 for one tho

seen an orange Hugo Boss one in a vintage shop in town for 30quid, no hood though... might have to wait till i got a bit more dough and hit another vintage shop i was at today, gripped a nice custom sweater for 25 :h:

not especially but the expense seems to me more offensive but its peoples money i guess they (may have) earned it through hard work

i just hate the fact the world is so unequal that some people can still spend that on one item of clothing when it could feed x amount of people for x amount of time

youre basically spending that sheer amount of cash to affect how youre percieved by others and to me thats not a good enough reason and of course this also adds to the disease of rampant materialism amongst those that could never afford those things but want for them badly

yeah i mean i certainly see what you're saying with regards to materialism and the people who buy heavily into it though they simply aren't wealthy enough to LITERALLY buy themselves into it...

though i find that moreso with technology today than fashion

in fact the guy who runs the shop that i bought my crew from today and made my jumper, was chattin to me about that very thing, technology has seemingly replaced clothes as the fashion accessory most in demand... sit on the bus n listen to kids chatting pure gibberish about phones, go into a phone shop around 3-4oclock aswell and its normally full of little kids lookin at phones after school

conversely there's a luddite-like anti technology, reverse snobbery in some groups of people where its so fucking cool to have a shit phone or not even have a phone at all... yet still have a macbook at home obviously

trends and fashion are just fleeting expressions of culture that its neither necessary or necessarily beneficial to buy into, but its ignorant of human society from pretty much forever to deny any importance it plays in life (not sayin you dont get that btw! obviously you do by the points you made!) - but some people seem to not get that and you end up hearing crap like 'it doesn't matter what you look like' - well sorry mate, it fucking does, from that you have to pick how you're going to be perceived and you do everytime you wake up and it starts from wiping your arse when you take a shit and brushing your teeth to putting on clean clothes...

Dress one way and you get judged by some, dress another way and you'll get judged by others.

personally i find buying vinyl pretty ridiculous and a complete waste of money when a good soundcard and quality wav sound is just as good in a club.

don't think you see me going into the 'what record have you just bought' thread dishing it out

think what you like but don't go derailing a thread because you can't comprehend why someone would want a good quality coat

I see what pistons is saying and he has a valid point, although most stuff is usually that price for a reason.. i still think over 200 pound for a jacket is a bit silly. But usually more expensive things fit better and last longer.
