Biggest WTF of the day.
They also said it was more likely than not that Mr Duggan had thrown a gun from a taxi just before he was killed.
"MORE LIKELY THAN NOT"

Whatever happened to Reasonable fucking Doubt? When did we become a nation where ANYONE is allowed to shoot first and ask questions later? This isn't the Wild West, it's Great Britain.

The gun was also wrapped inside a sock when it was found....

I don't think that has existed for a long time in this country but the MET with the word from BoJo are ordering some new water cannons for the summer so that should be fun.

Well maybe if he'd ordered them sooner they would've been able to put out that furniture shop in Croydon!

what a poisonous system & country we live in - more fool me for hoping the jury would see sense & give an unlawful killing verdict

I don't know the ins and outs of this case (as i'm sure 90% of the people who are commenting on it don't) and of course it seems ridiculous but everyone is making out like the police are some murderous gang who go around shooting black men all the time. Obviously any life taken is terrible but it's not exactly a common occurence.

Edit: Don't know enough to form a solid opinion. Think the officers' testimonies need to be looked at though.

Including Mark Duggan, nearly 1,500 people have died after contact with the police since 1990. No police officer has been convicted.
827 people have died during or following police contact since 2004.

not that uncommon at all.

Its more just further reasoning for a deep mistrust for the met, rather than they are going around killing ppl

also that 1,500 figure is pretty misleading it includes deaths in pursuit which are unlikely to be the polices fault also deaths while in custody which could be anything from suicide to overdose to random heart failure, only a small proportion is from shootings.
