is it ironic me saying thats possibly one of the stupidest replys ive read on this forum...? Please dont think im being funny here, but you have to own something to be able to use and learn with it....dont you?

It's actually a good idea to learn every stock synth in your DAW before buying anything extra. Once you learn the basics of synths it'll be 10x easier to pick up something new and figure out how to work it. Considering it's Massive, I'm assuming you read that almost everyone uses it for dubstep, but the truth is you'll never be able to make good dubstep, or any music, until you actually take some time to learn a few basics of music production. Browse the production bible on here, so much good info to be shared.

If your acoustic or none EQ'd drum sounds like shit it will prolly come out a bit better but not a lot.

Also a compressor is not an insta-drum fix...
A compressor can QUICKLY suck the life out of drums if you are using it wrong(squashing your transients). Alternatively it can really help drums too. Parallel compression or New york compression is a decent compromise to get a punchy and fat kick at the same time. (watch for clipping)

I would recommend using good samples, layer, mix, learn proper compression and eq through practice and reading and don't be ashamed of samples pre Eq'd because it's what you do with it that counts.

Also note drum processing is different with every sample.

Whenever I use vengeance samples I always end up changing them in some way, usually adjusting pitch envelopes in ableton's simpler or eq'ing it differently. That being said, if I have a shit kick that just won't fit in with the track and I just want to replace it and move on, it's nice to have that option of the already punchily sexy vengeance kicks and snares at my disposal.
Vengeance kicks don't sound too good at all in minimal tracks, though... in anything that isn't dancefloor/banger material the vengeance samples are a bit overkill, imo. It can kill the mood of an otherwise really unique and vibing track sometimes.
