Based upon the Essential Mix?
yes
Tunes from that mix have been getting released but it doesn't necessarily imply that others will be getting a release. Of course, that doesn't stop us from hoping. Here's to Dubfoot getting a release!

i know. but that moment he played the changes remix in full i knew it would be released. Noches Suenos Superdub has been released, Swindle - Last Minute Boogie as well. Dubfoot is forthcoming Deep Medi according to T_!. so yeah...

Plus releasing Answer Me would be the opportunity to finally use that Pokes head that Tunnidge apparently drew ages ago ;)

And V.I.V.E.K and Quest both have albums forthcoming on Deep Medi Musik too, right? All I'm trying to say is, I'll believe it when I see it up for sale.

From another perspective, this was the best time to release the Changes Harmonimix and cash in on the James Blake hype. Broadcasting it in full on the Essential Mix would, in a traditional way, maximize awareness and, therefore, purchases.

Likewise, Mala in Cuba wasn't so far removed from the date of broadcast that an addendum would be irrelevant and number of purchases relatively low. Combine that with the fact that it was featured on the Brownswood 100 compilation and I doubt that it being released has any correlation with any of the other tunes in the mix being released.

You're not wrong to think that more tunes from the mix could be getting released. I thought the same thing based upon my understanding of Mala's perspective on dubplate culture and 'moments' but what do we really know? By that same logic, there should be other tunes getting released. Other than those already mentioned in the thread, we're still looking at Jedeye, Torn at the Roots, Tic, Coral Reef, and Alpha. If we leave the Anti-War Dub VIP and the Distance remix of Swish out of that list for obvious reasons, I don't think it would be unreasonable imagine a day when some if not all of those tunes see a release.

Here's hoping!

Alpha is already signed, Kromestar has an album forthcoming, same as Quest, like you mentioned.
the cuba album was a whole different thing as it was a project for another label which was determined to be released.
of course there's no guarantee all those tunes will come out, but when you look at what Mala's been playing throughout the years you can see he releases most of the tunes that he pushes if they're not picked up by another label.
take his xlr8r mix. there were 9 dubs on it that came out on Deep Medi, DMZ and AWD later.

I totally agree with you and, on second thought, Distance is far too long overdue for a release on Deep Medi Musik. A plate with both the Swish and Changes remix would be glorious.

the tracklist for jay 5ive's deep medi mix had 'Kromestar - Inner Trance [forthcoming on his medi album]' on it. looks like they removed it now.
he also said the album's finished a couple of weeks ago on getdarker.

that album could very well be the best thing to come out this year... so many tunes that he's got that so many people want.

and it could be an album full of fresh tunes and it would still be massive, he keeps taking it up a notch.

although i am definitely hoping for some form of still in love :U: :U: :U: :U: :U:
