you basically get 48 hours to make a track, of any style, any tempo any length and then when youre done forum members anonymously vote in a knock out competition, eliminating tracks until we have a winner
Ah, that's what i was kinda thinking, but i wasn't sure.
Is there a place i would have to enter to before i submit the track or could i just submit it monday?
this is what i used for all my tunes for the last 2-3 years, i manned up enough in the past
only thing i have available now are my flatmates ipod earbuds, no way i'm gonna make stuff on that
and her boyfriends' stereo but i tried mixing on that and he shouted STOP when i played loefah, the membranes started rattling horribly (those speakers are older than me and definetly not made for subbass).
i mean if we'd do that a week later i'm in but i dont wanna delay everyone. knowing my luck the money still won't be there by then
I'd say it turned out pretty well considering these things are barely better than my laptop speakers. The majority of it I had to do with spectrum analyzing. You can definitely make it work but you'll spend a lot more time tweaking knobs to get that analyzer moving where you want it to rather than being able to rely on your ears. I mean you could at least give it a shot if you wanted to. You wouldn't participate anyway so what do you really have to lose?
im in, i see that it starts in an hour.. gona go thru all my sound to decide on what i will include in my song hope i dont lose straight away like i did last time
OMFG!!!! I'm SOooooooOOOoo Excited! I've been producting dubstep for years now and this will be my chance to shine and show off my SKILLS!! I sent the final track to soundcloud (Ya I lost sleep hahaha.... I think i'm way too excited about this) and Well am I aloud to post it here in this forum/topic for everyone to see?

How did you lose sleep when you weren't even supposed to start until about 4 hours ago? The way this works is you have 48 hours starting today at noon to create a track from scratch and have it finished and submitted by noon monday.

I've actually already got a a pretty good skeleton track laid out. Now that I've got some basics setup I'll be able to finish it up tomorrow probably. gotta get some sleep for work tonight. Hopefully I stick with this one this time and I don't completely delete everything and start over at the last minute. Maybe I'll be able to pull off a half-assed mixdown before I need to submit it.
