Hmm I dunno. I think it's just messy in general. I can barely even concentrate on it

hmm. at least to me, the mixdown seems to be a quite an important part of production, am I not correct? well anyway, sick of korn and their "dubstep" and couldn't care less. Just thought they'd at least have someone good/professional mixing the stuff. :) peace everyone, go listen to mala or something worthy.

i mean obviously there have been bands that combined metal with edm better mix wise like spineshank (i think) can't remember on the same label. roadrunner used to have some of the best mixdowns and lps sound wise when rick rubin was in charge. i mean when it comes to blending guitars and edm etc the first thing besides nin that comes to mind is god lives underwater and their lps stand out to me to this day

i think that labels now are more focused on the loudness war rather than solid mixed lps, this one isn't horrid, but it isn't good either

i grew up listening to Korn back in middle school, but i just can't see this album working. If i wanted to hear metal with bass weight i would listen to freakin Meshuggah any day

i'm sure the original tunes looking at the list of producers were originally well mixed, but like most major label affairs i'm guessing a lot got changed by the mixing engineer when blended with korns recordings and the mastering engineer did the best he could with it all

can't really take that whole viking thing seriously, apart from Enslaved.

and rolling back to metal (again swedish) mixed with electronic music:

Surely if people are gonna make comparisons people should be mentioning how this was a lot better too?

I felt the Skrillex tunes brought it down while the rest was just mediocre. In execution, it's not nearly as awful as its concept would make it seem, but it's not something I would go out of my way to listen to.

it was cool 10 years ago when i was just young boy looking for mischief and places to skateboard. it's all a bit bland now when you're still babbling about the same subject matter 20 years into your bands existence while hopping on the newest bandwagon to stay relevant, all while talking as if you're doing something innovative.

i thought the skrillex tunes and kill the noise one (they collabed on the other ones) were only ones that stood out and fit with korn the rest seemed out of place

Wow. I honestly thing this is some of the worst officially-released music I've ever heard. Its literally painful to listen to. No groove, soul, musicality or subtlety. It sounds like Korn and the producers made their tracks separately then had them mashed together by some label goon. I expected this to be pretty shit, but it surpassed all my expectations. I even like the odd track by Datsik, Feed Me and Skrillex, but this was just abysmally awful. And to think this tnuc tried to take credit for 'inventing' dubstep...
