FabFilter has 25% off bundles until 31 December, check them out. Personally I don't like the NI sound. There are loads of (cheaper) "Pro" alternatives around, synths and effects.Dr_Driller wrote: i would also recommand falbfilter plugins for mixing tools, you already have all mixing tools ready in ableton suite, but the fabfilter one are really great.

get a sherman filterbank and decent interface with at least 4 outs and 2 in. or some analogue synths.
this is coming from someone who is pretty well covered on the software side of thing.

Get Komplete 8, that should cover you for a lot of the acoustic samples you'll need. Then use the darkmatter sampleswap or whatever it's called to get a shit ton of dnb and whatnot samples

these don't look like production/mixing headphones. theyre all earbuds. Go for some Sennheisers, Shures, or AKGsDr_Driller wrote:real headphoneshttp://www.jays.se/

komplete 8 seems rad, but i doubt youll even use the majority of it. just think, $1000 is quite a lot of money.
Re: Is "Native Instruments Komplete 8 Ultimate" Worth it?
I would totally buy komplete if I had the extra money lying around.
Re: Is "Native Instruments Komplete 8 Ultimate" Worth it?
very true, massive is $200 and fm8 is $200 on its own, so why not have the whole kit?Raggles wrote:If I pirate 2000$ worth of software...will I ever be able to make a melody?
TBH I would drop a grand on software. Just invest it. why the fuck would you need all those synths and shit. Just learn how to learn one and you can work magic.

I'd say get a nice interface and make sure all your hardware requirements are taken care of first. Maybe a portable recorder for samples and sound design? If there's no hardware you want, then Komplete might be a good idea. It does cover pretty much all the bases. Like I say in that article, the learning curve is going to be long for the whole package. But you won't really have any excuses anymore, you'll have more than enough software to get you where you want to go. It's just a matter of learning and applying your knowledge.
