For me, I'm really enjoying this very fresh direction dubstep is taking. Brostep seems to be loosing weight and turning off even it's biggest fans. People like the Night Slugs crew and Swamp81 records are leading the way with 135-145 bpm shit at the moment so dont say true dubstep is dead!
But I am loving the 100bpm stuff at the minute. I think it'll be intriguing to see how it pans out. I mean, dubstep started out dark and chilled and became heavier and mid rangier and louder over the years, yet the 100bpm stuff pretty much started out loud and mid rangey, so it'll be fun to see if it mellows over time conversely to how dubstep has.

I could, without a doubt, make 600bpm dubstep and 3 bpm splittercore. It wouldn't be dj friendly but if it was good enough, I'm sure someone could timestretch it to fit in. lol

Glitch hop is
sometimes 100 bpm (can be anywhere between 90-110 usually) and it's been around for, arguably, longer than dubstep has. Maybe not under that exact alias but it's been around for ages.
I'm honestly not sure why some of you are just discovering it now?
I know KOAN and some newer excision/skrillex/bro guys are pushing some of the ~100bpm step, so maybe it's getting a bit more limelight lately, but it's definitely not new by any means.
When you live in western Canada you get a lot more of the whole bass-music, glitchy scene going in places like Vancouver and Van Isle, really cool stuff happening, arguably even before dubstep got big here.

The whole concept of EDM sub-genres is moribund. People are pigeonholing themselves less and less into specific tempo brackets and that, to me, is a very good thing.

I love the 100-110 range and there's an absolute stack of quality glitch hop and ghetto funk out there!
There's even some stuff that combines the two.... like er.... my stuff! Love it!
So much music that combines elements of a wide variety of music right now, which is great i think.
I do like the 100-110 tempo as it's a range I like to dance to. Every tempo has it's place, but this is definitely my favourite range

Burial isnt straight up dubstep. Its dubstep tinged ambient housey 2 steppy stuff. His genre really is his own. theres loads of stuff similar that crosses over into 2 step and ambient house. Yes some of his elements are dubstep, but no way can he stand firmly under the dubstep umbrella
