Re: Cypress Hill hops on the dubstep wagon
Is there a clip of the actual tune and not just a 30 second intro?

If a rapper were to jump on the dubstep bandwagon, i'd put my money on Zack De La Rocha from Rage Against the Machine.

Yeah, but chances are he would do something sick. RATM/Distance collab would be next level.

I agree, wholeheartedly, on both countsThe Tornado wrote:Matty G should have produced it lol
Matty G's prods would be perfect for quality hip hop artists to flow over... surprised it hasn't happened, really.

Re: Cypress Hill hops on the dubstep wagon
I'd have to disagree, Zack has a tendancy to change the volume of his singing/rapping whatever you wanna call it quite a bit. He goes from very quiet whispering to very heavy shouting. I don't think that'd suit dubstep at all, not dubstep made by any decent artists anyway. I hope if something like that ever does happen that i'm wrong but i can't see it.The Tornado wrote:Yeah, but chances are he would do something sick. RATM/Distance collab would be next level.
I also think it'd be a window for names like "Dub Against The Machine" which would be horrible.

Just because he does that with rage doesn't mean he's so one dimensional that he couldn't mix it up in a different musical context. Zack vs distance would be ridiculous!

I loathe ratm so much I hope that will never happen.
Didn't think the preview was that bad, but I guess we'll see when the EP drops.

Re: Cypress Hill hops on the dubstep wagon
you'd expect rusko would know better as he's coming from a west coast hip hop and dub influenced background. it's such a shame that such a talented bloke went to do that whatever shit he's been pumping for the last couple of years. but meh, money talks
and for the zack de la dubstep thing, have you guys heard one day as a lion? it was (is?) a project by zack and the drummer from mars volta (can't remember his name) they released one album, pretty good IMO. not dubstep or even electronic but listening to those drums and the bottom-heavy keyboards you could imagine what he would sound like on a heavy, 2007esque blazed-out ruff dubstep tune. of course he would have to rap considerably faster (or slower) than he's accustomed to

IDK, Zach has done some work with a lot of different producers. Remember this?
