deservedly one of the best tracks of the year. Shit goes off!!!!! on a bit of a garage vibe so I guess not strictly dubstep, but who really cares.

What a year! <3 I am so happy for ALL of us ) Big up everyone who supported what they love and everyone who can't see their names on the lists :] There are too many good artists out there. Rspct goes to quality!
PS: as u started the 'wondering why' thing with Mala ) I wonder why the Distance remix won and the Badman VIP. Both tunes ARE FYAHH!! But..they r dubplates. So I think they must not be nominated (but I guess many of you voted, so..fair enough) :] I just hope..if they..ever..release them..I we won't see them on the lists again ;D hah. Ez

I really wish people would get off the dungeon dick for a minute... Can't Sleep better than all those other albums, especially Author? Come on now... it seems like that album got all those votes cos its the only 'dungeon' one on the list. Other than that pretty good results, although I still maintain that Phaeleh should be #1 producer what with Mala not releasing much and Boddika not being dubstep

MALA & YUNX, like I thought.
Glad to see Cant Sleep as best Album, I totally agree.

Not going to jump on this hate/whinge wagon that happens every year! But I must say I am a lot happier this year about the results than some of the results in previous times!
Ok 1 complaint, where was my boy skrill!?
edit: grats to everyone, people doing big things!

the bass and some of the percussion are deffo garage (which evolved from house so yes, there's house in there too I suppose). The melodies might be a bit house tinged but don't let that fool you. Also, at around 135 bpm's, it is a standard garage tempo, but too fast for most house. That's the strength of the tune, it is diverse, reaching back to older days but also contemporary...

Definitely agree on Mc Sgt Pokes as the best Mc. P-Money is pretty sick also, but more of a grime artist

Congrats all winners and nominees. Yunx (again), Rinse, Mindstep and Kryptic Minds - Cant Sleep, fully deserved imo. Killawatt had a sick year of production. Wheel & Deal should have been far higher

Big up to all the winners and nominees.
Majorly surprised at how low Keysound finished, easily my label of the year, Routes and Carrier were just amazing. Out to Blackdown, deserved much better!

I would like to see Goth Trad in top of all of these above, but did not vote for him because the official release of his album was this year, and not 2011. Well, in the 2012 awards he surely gets my votes for best album, best track (airbreaker or anti-grid) etc. Anyway, i love that there's no bro! Dubstepforum, thanks a lot

Agreed!
Phaeleh should of won best producer as well! Mala is overrated imo

In all fairness, take away all things mala from dubstep in 2011 and you're left with a gaping hole, a divide between new and fresh stuff that's up for debate as to whether it is still dubstep, and old done before stuff that was done better a few years ago (like most of the stuff on that Wheel & deal label you describe).
Say what you will about Mala's 2011 individual output, but he's not overrated. He's been essential in 2011 as much as 2005.

results are very pleasing, eh, maybe some could've gone either way, but we all know it could be far worse, big up all the nominees!

just listened to mala's xlr8r podcast for the first time today
quite surprised it made numero uno,
feel like people are just loyal to the name
but that does count for many things pertaining to the awards
no disrespect to mala at all, love his works

I think its gotta do with Malas releases and the complexity of his album he put out. He also did a few Mala in Cuba shows if I recall with a live band. Stand Against War is a fuckin anthem and im pissed it wasnt released on an CD format (for CDJ's) tho. Big up to all the winning artists!!
