watched the entire video, the notebook stuff is pretty dope advice, been plannin to do something like that, but i ended up making 1-2 a week on windows notepad giving it a shot from next week!
From the book, does it contain anything decent, I'm not sure if i should buy it. Might as well just wait for the second part of his video.

everything i have read or used of ill gates has been good stuff. This is what he does for a living, so to hear the experiences and thoughts from a like minded fulltime producer/musician is always something i like to obsorb and reflect upon. Plus his templates for djing with ableton are sick. Bassnectar, Vadim, Datsik all use ill.gates tech behind the scenes to mashup there live sets now days.

Liked what he was saying, I watched the first 20 minutes and it was really engaging...but then I checked his music out and I discovered he fails at making brostep drops, which is all he does so I was a little dissapointed :/ Also, agree with what people are saying that they are more inspired at night, though you get a lot more done if you wake up at like 9, say instead of 1 maybe start the night before, finish the next day. tahts usually what ends up happening to me

Heard a track with him and Datsik, it was meh... He's from the same country as me though.. Gonna have to check this out

To be fair, I have been saying what he said there ( as well as other people on here) for years... Technical knowledge < workflow / getting in the zone

I uploaded a link to that video a while back in a different thread. Glad to see everyone is taking it in as much as I am. Very very mastermind advice comes from that video. I wish the other chapters of the tutorial didn't cost money though. Definitely worth buying i'd imagine, it seems to be the most down to earth, yet in depth video I have seen so far from that first chapter.

really loved about what he said about talking with the old people and all they regretted were things they didnt do. Makes me want to do SOMETHING with this music thing, whether its something small as doing a couple house parties, or getting signed, at least its something, not just a soundcloud account with 90 followers. Im gonna make a checklist like he said too and post it somewhere....

one thing i dont understand though is how easily i can apply this stuff to music and follow it, but if i do this for my real life (job, moving out etc.) its just not appealing to me...

that part about using the analytical side of your brain literally defines me. everything ive ever done ive tried to find the "right" way or the best possible way of doing something. Im actually considering buying a journal now.. Some really good stuff in there

Creativity is definitely a bonus, but what he says is smoke/drink in the sound design and such portion of producing. it makes a lot of sense to me
not to say i dont smoke and write all the time..

Sure, I'm not a fan of him musically ... but game knows game when it sees it... and dude knows what the fuck he is talking about when it comes to habits, workflow, etc.

I have had military-precision discipline for decades from my classical background... and he *still* highlighted what is up with what I was still doing wrong. I mean, with no disrespect - who cares what his music is... he hits harder on shit I been saying myself for years, and even has downloadable Live templates to go along with it.

I watched the vid not expecting to be impressed at all... and I gotta say dude knows what he is talking about.

So much of what he said really hit home, especially about not being afraid to be "wrong" and getting in the zone and finishing tracks. The handful of tracks I've completed have all been in 1 day sessions, or over a weekend. Everything I've done recently I get to a point, and something doesn't sound "right" i.e not like I've heard it in other songs and it completely kills my motivation. Really enjoyed watching that and plan on using a lot of those tips, and grabbing the other parts to the session
