Re: Propellerhead to share "exciting news"
Reason supporting VSTs would be sooo good! What would be the disadvantage in that?
Re: Propellerhead to share "exciting news"
Reason doesn't alow vst's because of there rock solid stabilityFilthzilla wrote:Reason supporting VSTs would be sooo good! What would be the disadvantage in that?

you just get the small problem of sounding like every other producer out there that uses reason (well.... in most cases)ehbrums1 wrote:Reason doesn't alow vst's because of there rock solid stabilityFilthzilla wrote:Reason supporting VSTs would be sooo good! What would be the disadvantage in that?

it is true that a lot of the noises get recycled but theres three synths in there which all give you a different way of making a sound and theres at least two variations of each fx.
I've never had another DAW but for me that's quite enough to be getting along with, sometimes less can be more (for me anyway)- by limiting yourself you learn all the tools really well and learn to overcome your own difficulties, rather than simply downloading a vst which does it for you.

I also think that the lack of vst's pushes me to be more creative

Being a Reason user is like getting married
you might have a love/hate relationship with it and its many perks and downfalls
but there's always a stone left unturned
and even when you upgrade and move on, you won't fall out of love with it
Plus reWire.. ffs, it even says on the tin .. "Use Reason just like a VSTi in ReWire Mode"
it isn't meant to host other plugins. it IS a plugin. with a dedicated sequencer which happens to kick ass.
you're just running it standalone.

So.... its 20th of march today...
Re: Propellerhead to share "exciting news"
looks like its out now, they have created a way for thrid party developers to make plugs specifically for reason, so its a way for the program to remain stable but provide new intruments and effects...pretty exciting imo. I really need to look at 6.

This is getting very interestingRack Extensions will be available by summer (some time Q2) as a free update. Third parties already announced include Korg, Sugar Bytes, Peff, Softube, GForce, SonicCharge. And they’re inviting other developers.
