left hand on the record, right hand on the pitch control for me
because my desk is really small my decks are always in 'battle position' i use right for cueing and left for pitch control/EQing. sounds a bit stupid when i think about it but in my mind just get better precision with old righty

surely you need the precision for the pitch control

everyones different though, what works for you works for you,i have one battle mode one normal mode so im always used to both, used to hate it turning up somewhere to see battle mode so thought i'd probably better learn it!

was wondering what the fuck you were on about at first but if he's left handed and pitch mixing and using serato it would actually make sense to turn the mixer back to front, other than the fact it'd be up to slow down and down to speed up which would be a headfuck

Anyone notice that Kode 9 cues with his right ear....

I discovered that while researching which headphones djs are using...

I didn't check every dj in the world, but in that afternoon when I looking...
He was the only left brained cueing individual that I found...

"...An example of a routine left hemisphere behavior is feeding behavior,
whereas as a right hemisphere is escape from predators and attacks from conspecifics."

I learned to speed up my turtables from seeing Miss Djax do it before a set once...

After that I started asking all my DJ peeps what that was....

..but back to Ramadanman...yeah he's pretty cute for a 12 year old

..like Tony Headhunter...I said - his style is so sophisticated for a 12 year old!!

This.

The only thing I do is I have to cross my arms when cueing the right deck (with my left hand) if I am going to a instant fade up on the first beat but i'm sure right handed people find it weird doing it on the left deck?

Maybe i'm just a bit special but it feels weird if my arms are not crossed.
I do the same thing. Which is weird, because I'm definitely right handed for the most part :cornlol:

what does that have to do with anything? :corntard:

HUH? It is up to slow down - down to speed up normally....

You mean't the opposite maybe?

I've never touched a cdj - let alone serato

My money fell out in 2002 and I haven't been able to get it back since...

no need to keep taking the record off and on so the tone arm being in the way doesn't matter

by up i meant towards me which doesn't really make much sense in hindsight lol

Yeah I was gonna say, you don't have to switch records so the tonearm doesn't have to move. Doesn't matter how they are placed.

I learned to DJ battle style, and also use both hands sometimes crossing them. I've never gone as far as to move turntables someone set up especially if someone is playing after, rather I just reach and cross my arms looking like a spastic. It just feels uncomfortable, but it's doable.

He was still cueing on serato, just lifting the needle and dropping at the top over again between tracks.
Sounds like he was using absolute mode though, which would make it just as difficult. Even on relative, if you hit the tone arm its going to fuck you up
