Re: Luke Envoy
Gamma / Honour Kill was in the first pack of dubstep records I bought. Had it stolen from my bag years ago, unfortunately. Would love to see him come back with another release though!

I second this. His set on GetDarker not too long ago was really good.

on fb - "makes me laugh what happened to dubstep. who would have thought"
wouldnt be surprised if he wants nothing to do with this sound anymore. scenes become a parody of itself within the space of four years, originators must be proud.
big up envoy regardless, tunes were always lengers

this is joke, I was playing one of his records that I never listen to the other day 'M.U.G.E.N' and realised how sick it was then had a little search on discogs to see what became of him. Days later I see theres a bag of man wondering the same thing haha

Re: Luke Envoy
i meant like 2007/8 though, back when wobbles were a good thing. like i wanna make a fred based on this new fact piece but i dunno if there's any point being cynical man. we all know the sound is dead, doubt another fred will solve anything.fractal wrote:more like 9 years at this point, but i get what you're saying
Re: Luke Envoy
hmmm
dunno about the sound being dead
it's sad that we give the music we love such a short shelf live while music like Rock & Roll spans generations.... we do it to ourselves tho i guess

Been thinking about this and have to say - I understand if someone's not feeling the majority of what's out there at a given moment, but it also seems like kind of a cop-out. If you don't like it, make something different. Look at all the OG Dons of the sound still doing it well and not falling into cookiecutter sounds - Pinch comes immediately to mind.TopManLurka wrote:on fb - "makes me laugh what happened to dubstep. who would have thought"

Re: Luke Envoy
at least he's not pretending like he wasn't a part of it, which also seems to be a trend with some of the big names

Re: Luke Envoy
I could actually see that happening. Just listen to his first release on hot flush! Man knows old drum machines. He could probably bring something real interesting to the table.bobsabarker wrote:I'm just sad we probably won't get anymore tunes from the man. Loefah needs to get him on Swamp 81!!

Re: Luke Envoy
i feel i owe an explanation to all you kind people. i dropped off a couple years ago and it was hard to be inspired to be honest.
theres rarely been a week gone by that i didnt write tunes, they just werent good. before i was producing i was the biggest cynic and only bought about 1% of what i heard, i prob finish about 1% of what i make. if my tune isnt the best thing ive heard all month then i dont see the point. im bearing my soul right now!!! i know its not the best way to think but fuck me theres so much shit out there i dont wanna add to the problem. im inspired again right now, and if the tune is good you will hear it. sorry i cant give you more right now
i dropped out cos i couldnt write a tune i was happy with in any genre
to people stressing about how everything turned out for the sound, dont worry about what it became, treasure being one of the lucky few who saw it at its best. had the time of my life

all i really meant was that disney and microsoft are using dubstep to sell their products.alphacat wrote:Been thinking about this and have to say - I understand if someone's not feeling the majority of what's out there at a given moment, but it also seems like kind of a cop-out.
