benga in 2009, he was still playing dubplates and his set blew me away!

Caspa in Room 2 of Fabric around 2009ish on a Playaz night....
At first I thought, this must be chillout room as it was way too slow for my liking.
Then i heard the FILTHY DWOPZZZZ....
Seeing Magnetic man, followed by Skream B2B Benga at Benicassim in 2010 was awesome, before we gatecrashed the stage and the whole thing got shut down....

Phaeleh and Bunzer0 in 2007 or something. Had never heard of Phaeleh before at that point and I was wondering how the fuck you had to pronounce his name, but he played a fucking killer set that night.
That's how I found out about him.

mala, loefah and pokes at the art school 17/04/2009.
probably the best dubstep night i've been to aswell. soundsystem that night absolutely smashed it.
made me wonder why i hadn't pulled my finger out and went to a dubstep night in glasgow before that. was pretty much done with going to dnb night by that point. no chance i was missing loefah tho.

Joe Nice at dub war nyc.... been to a fair few brostep raves beforehand that i wouldn't count. Not as though i don't like my share of bangers, but there were no dubstep DJ's or producers present, so, yeah. didn't count.

Technically, a local DJ named Bowzer (I think he's on here actually, but no idea if he still comes on). I'd booked him for a closing set of a party I was throwing in 2007 without understanding what dubstep was, and watched a few minutes of his set before wandering off to do something. Treated it like more of a curiosity, really.
Didn't go out to see dubstep again until Skream & Benga in 2009.

Mala.
it was a nice night.id been listening to dubstep for about a year at this point after growing weary of dnb and it was the first opportunity i had to see a uk dubstep dj. i was managing a youth hostel in amsterdam at the time and i used to play dubstep in the lounge in 2005/06, mostly radio shows from the uk i dl'd from barefiles or wherever... 99% of the guests, even the potheads hated it lol,... when burials first album came out it became our sunday morning sound...anyways i put on note on the door of the hostel that night of the party telling our guests that if they wanted to see something special they should come and see mala... i got back at about 22:00 and there must have been about 50 people mingling around outside, so i told them all how to get there and we piled in the tram(s) ...it was really nice cuz it was travellers from all over the world, and the vibe was nice that night as a lot of people were experiencing this music for the first time while in amstrdam for the first time. i remember the bar was a guy opening cans of beer and pouring wine into little plastic cups...
