story of my life!!! Like shit seriously stops me from doing anything :u: :u: :u:

Coffee is a funny one, it depends. I tend to only really drink coffee if i need to, if I'm real tired and need t osqueeze out another couple of hours but remember that even though it makes you more alert it actually fucks creativity or even trying to think straight. Some scientists did experiments on caffeine on spiders compared to other chemicals (there's a spoof of this but it was actually a real experiment) and the spider webs were a fucking scribble on caffeine, as well as twice as large! Interestingly enough when exposed to tiny amounts of LSD the webs came out geometreically perfect... :o

Anyway, sometimes, sometimes not... meh, pointless post...

Linkage of Spiders pls?

I vaugely remember seeing something like this before...

That's a spider, not a human. Caffeine's purpose is to be an insecticide (I know the spider is an arachnid).

I seriously can't even tell when I'm caffeinated or not
I'll drink 3 cups of coffee or a big ass red bull and all it will do is keep me up, but not take me to some strange uber-production level

so I say it does nothing, except help me do anything longer without sleep

Me too, in a big way. I think people are affected differently. Some people can have a cup before they go to bed, no problem. If I had a cup of coffee before I went to bed, I wouldn't be sleeping for at least 24 hours.

I think people over exaggerate the effects of caffeine. I drink a shit load of coffee and tea.. i always have some form of drink next to me (caffeine or water).. in a pint glass. Caffeine can help you concentrate for the short term but after a while you will probably start to 'wonder'. I drink roughly 10-15 cups of coffee/tea a day, depending what im doing.. but i can function fine if i have none.. i like the taste more than anything, the energy boost is just a slight extra.

I would never use it as something to make me work longer. I will happily have a pint of coffee and work longer, but i will never have one with the intention of trying to concentrate more, it just wouldnt work for me.

the NEJM just this month published a study that found an lower incidence of SPECIFIC MORTALITY in coffee drinkers compared with non-drinkers.

overall, a pretty inconclusive study, i'm just saying.
also, my roomate's freshman year he developed cysts from too much coffee drinking.
personally I love a cup in the mornings.

Thats only because you have a high tolerance to it, the effects are also different from person to person,,caffeine is like any other drug really, only its legal and sold everywhere and is socially acceptable.
