the video is actually pretty pointless aside from showing how to record/bounce using edison

Resampling isn't some breakthrough or even different method of making sounds. Its just bouncing down your shit to audio and then working on it again. Adding a reverb to a wav file of a synth with a long fx chain is going to sound the same as the reverb just added to the end of the long fx chain.

The upside is that there are some cool audio manipulation effects that can only be used on audio files and not synth/fx chains (such as pitching a drone note down to get something grungy). The other upside is the fact that you can reproduce it quickly by just importing the bounced down version into a sampler or even just straight into the song. The downside is that you lose all control of the internal parameters.

I don't resample to replicate fx because in cubase I can save all of the exact parameters and all of the effects in a chain with one button, and open it up in any other project with another button.

I also don't like losing control of my internal parameters.

You can make fat juicy shit without resampling. You don't even need that many effects either. This synth was made with like 4 internal fx and only one thing being modulated. I could do so much more with it.

I had to use reverbnation because it seemed to be the only site that didn't add a shitload of extraneous harmonics to it to make it sound like shit. Too bad I can't embed it.

There`s good stuff to get from resampling. I personally am not so much into it cause i think it takes a bit of practice to know what you want and what you cant get from resampling. If you just bounce your reece and throw a bunch of phasers, flangers and distortions on it and expect miracles you`re gonna be dissapointed. I found the video usefull cause it shows a quick and clean technique. I personally wouldnt keep that whole bassline but would rather use it as a layer.

I'm actually jizzing over it... Well no. But yeah it's a pretty fucking ruthless bassline.

alot of people are forgetting that resampling is good because it freezes the effects you are using such as flange (lol) so you can repeat parts and the flange will have the same movement each repeat instead of going up and down...mostly good for reeces but you can apply it for anything really

That on top of a camo and crooked or friction drum pattern and you have a filthy drum and bass drop.

nonsense

what???
they're probably the only people in the game [the game being edm] that resample their own insturments for their signature sound. im thinking of their guitars mostly. they actually brought out [gasp] real instruments a couple of years ago on tour, but they kept shitting out because their signal path had a wireless element that was totally unstable. a real shame.

Use the NN19 sampler and follow these videos man ;-)

Good Luck ;-) ;-)
Malleus has some of the best Reason tuts out there. I recommend him for help in Reason. He is also on this site so you can PM him too ;-) :)
