yeah drowning and suffocating are quick
i'd have to go for burning alive, or being stabbed. i'd rather be shot than get stabbed.

had me relax into a drifting, dreamlike state
Consequently I have no fear of drowning (beyond the initial struggle).

My uncle had a bad surfing accident and started drowning, said that he just accepted that it was going to happen and contemplated the afterlife. Some guy saw it happen and swam over to save him in the end.

Something to do with Hypoxia I think, so yeah I can see why in reality drowning or suffocating wouldn't be so bad due to your oxygen starved brain going into delirium, it's just the thought of it really creeps me out

also, burning alive is also a very strong contender

They don't hang you until you're dead though. They stopped before the point of death, castrated the victim, disemboweled them, beheaded them and sliced the corpse into 4 pieces. It was as much about sending a message to others than it was about killing the victim.

They're so slow & sloppy, it seems the pain would be rediculous and your death would not be fast. You'd be alive while it was still chewing & swallowing parts of your body.
