I think in the instructions for the beta it says the ignition key won't work until the official release, I was having the same problem.
It's out, so we're talking official alpha release here ;-)

Found a slight...ly big problem.

INITIALIZE PATCH UPON RIGHT CLICK HAS DISAPPEARED AHHMEHGERRRD

seriously this is f'ed up, thats the single menu command that I use the most

EDIT:
Sneaky buggers renamed it as "reset device" wtf is that

I think it would be a good idea to use this thread to discuss available Rack Extensions, and both their monetary and creative worth.

Just demo'd Polar as I was interested mostly in what PH has cooked up, and I have to say, I'm impressed. Lot's of people on this forum are always looking for ways to 'broaden' their sounds and Polar achieves this and then some. I can see the auto pan function being of great use to me and the feedback on the images creates some crazy effects. $70 is steep though, which is frustrating about most of the RE's. I can understand the price tags on 3rd party software, as they are mostly the same prices as their plug-in/VST counterparts, but propellerhead should be wiping my ass with rack extensions for emptying my bank account to get Reason 6.

What have ya'll purchased/demo'd and what are your thoughts? Is $100 for an EQ/reverb/compression algorithm justified, or do you think you can emulate the effects of a certain rack extension via existing devices in Reason?

Everything aside, RE's are totally for the best and I can only imagine the routes that they will open up or expedite for Reason users. :h:

that's only if you want mapped sampler patches or other people's combi/synth patches, so in that way it's exactly like every other piece of sound generating software

that sounds terrific imo, wish it had always been like that. I don't use reason often enough anymore to justify upgrading

I think this is brilliant. the softube stuff is dope and priced a fair bit lower than the VST/AU comparison.

there have been some insane threads over on the propellerheads forum today. some people, naively, believed that just because the rack extension store resembles the apple app store model that the prices would be similar. people expecting everything to be priced sub €20, no fucking joke.

been trying out some of these devices over the weekend. overall I am pleasantly surprised.

the synapse audio devices (ring modulator, chorus and filter) are simply amazing sounding. I was certain I would be purchasing fxpansion etch red, but I just really love the synapse audio filter so much. it's not that etch sounds worse or anything, just different and I prefer the sound of the synapse audio filter. wasn't really taken with the sugar-bytes stuff, was kind of disappointed actually, but maybe that's just me.

tried peff's buffre and sonic charge's bitspeak as well. pretty cool plugins, but not for the sort of stuff I make.

again the synapse audio stuff is dope sauce. really surprised as well because they were the only devices in the rack extension store that I was a bit iffy about price wise. those, TSAR-1R (the cut down version is ok for me atm...) and polar are the real stand out devices in the shop for me.

That fucking Key and Authenticator is a pain in the ass. Took me about an hour just to upgrade.

I'm not really so surprised by Pulsar. I don't know, think I've been using Logic a bit too much.

Is this really good? :) Because I'm either getting Pro Tools now or Reason 6.5. I'll probably end up getting both
but I don't feel like spending that much.

I had low expectations of Pulsar from the start as it's just an external dual LFO majigger. Definitely demo Polar though, it'll probably be my first purchase from the RE store.

Looked through the shop, quite expensive but looks promising.

Just needs something like a sampler with waveforms, maybe even a way to cut audio files rhythmically :) That's
the only reason (pun) I'm trying Ableton now.

Never liked Recycle, but it looks like there actually is a new one. Called Slice Arranger.

That damn dongle toyed with me for an hour straight with my license! :u:
but I guess two free plugins were worth the trouble.
Saturator is pretty nice
Demo'd the FET comp and... fuck :o
Wouldn't mind a slight price drop though.
Might wait and see what holiday deals they offer later in the year though.
Edit: The polar is pretty great could see myself using that a lot might be my first purchase!

I just feel like...why would you use one of them when you can Buy/Use a more capable/flexible already available device/RE?

thats what I'm thinking the vinylizer is pretty much null and void, all you need is scream 4 and the saturation knob
