I'm not seeing shogun audio on the time table. When are they on?
11-1am Wednesdays - split with Dbridge, DSB & Flight iirc

As long as they keep Sir Spyro, Elijah and Skilliam, Chef, and Oneman i'm cool.

Although I hope the VIVEK rumors are true.

Rinse does have broadcasting license to pay for now though.. If a show isn't getting ratings things will happen.

I would imagine Distance and Anti-Social were 'cut' due to constant touring, other offers or something along those lines.

To be fair though, we was spoiled for choice for a lot of years, then spoiled for garage before that (and i'm sure jungle before that - wasn't old enough to know really!). Rinse has always pushed new sounds through and pushed older sounds back, i'm sure they're going for a more commercial edge due to legitimacy. Any of those DJs could go to any bass music station and get a slot though so it isn't a huge deal?

If they want to still do radio they will!

Shocking to see Younx stay and Anti-Social go though.. No hate for Younx but his shows have been uninteresting for at least a year, honestly thought it was a dead-out show?

I see where you're coming from, it all sounds very doom-y and same-y.... couldnt listen to more than 20mins of it, but he definitely gets the listeners.
At least 200 download the podcast from here alone....

wouldnt be surprised

next we'll see ntype & yunx losing their shows as well
Don't think they want to loose Distance though.

Haven't listened in a while, lot of changes already :o As long as they keep Shogun/dBridge, Hessle and the
Clairvoyants.

I don't see Chef on the tt anymore.

My two favorite Rinse shows are N-Type and Youngsta. Yunx is wildly popular, people locking in from across the globe to hear Minimal Mondays. I think he's safe, and he HAS to be one of the highest rated shows on the station. As long as N-Type gets to stay I'm cool. Always gonna have love for Rinse.

i agree, but it's got a huge following so i bet it goes nowhere (pun intended)

as long as blackdown is still playing I'm happy. interested to see what new shows come about

Let's not forget that there are plenty of other radio stations playing dubstep.

As for my faves on Rinse: N-Type, The Clairvoyants, and the Swampton show would be the three I make a serious effort to listen to live. Just thinking about it now though there are so many quality shows left: Blackdown, Butterz, Brackles, Oneman, Chef, Yunx, Kismet, Funk Butcher, the various DnB shows, Uncle Dugs, Plastician, Numbers, Hessle Audio, etc, etc.

N-Type will surely never get dropped, his shows are always the bomb. and also even if people find youngsta's shows boring, he surely gets up there with some of the most listeners, i bet a lot of people tune into rinse just for his show. also some of the guests he gets weekly, rinse would surely never drop him!

Agreed, His show is very good and one of my favorites but I can never listen to a full show (Only about half hour or so,), I believe his show is quite popular is due to the guests he gets and Toast. He often gets VIVEK (Repping a lot of quality Deep Medi dubs), Kryptic Minds (Repping Osiris Dubs), Icicle (Shogun Audio or what ever dubstep he;s doing at the time), Madd (with BB/BC dubs) etc etc, All his guests are quite prolific and have there own uniqueness (Even if there playing the same style as yunx at the time). The last show I listened to was last Mondays, Yunx b2b Kryptic Minds b2b Icicle (Was meant to have vivek aswell but he couldnt make it) and it was very very good, Toast is also one of the best Mc;s (In my opinion), He never seems to get irritating, Dont mind Lx either.

Im quite gutted about Distance's show tbh. More for the 'New Talent' than his actual set. Found some incredible producers threw that, and also where I got my first Rinse.FM play :P

Big shame about Distance; I liked his shows! Chestplate doing the daily dose of dubstep for Mistajam now.

yeah yunx isnt going anywhere soon since id assume the ratings for his show are quite high and his sister co manages the station with geeneus. i can only imagine him leaving if he gets a better offer from somewhere else, BBC/Kiss maybe.

geeneus says in interviews that he always wants to keep the station moving and fresh. back when grime was a big underground thing rinse had only 1 non mc show i think, most of it was grime. but then as grime started to fade they started to change their lineup.

i'd imagine that dubstep could be on the way out of the station because it might be stagnating a bit, (i dont think it is stagnating necessarily though).

unlike grime, dubstep and jungle there isnt any 'new' underground uk music sprouting up. so there shouldnt be such a drastic change since no new genres are banging around. at least not any that i'm aware of o.o
