Whilst that is indeed sad it wasn't entirely unexpected considering the way some of the birthday ones went, 6th bday in particular

still though, I do miss Mass

I dont get this whole 6th Birthday drama that seems to be about? I made my first trip down to London for a night for the 6th birthday and I found it was such a sick night. The only downfall was the whole Yunx/KM set with the mixer + water and that spud orchestrating a mosh pit with his FWD>> tee for Skream and Benga. I guess the death of the technic for DMZ was also a bit of a shitbag as well...

Probably wayyyyy too many people inside the place and the heat was killer but fucking hell i loved it. One of my best nights out ever. Nothing will top FWD's 10th Birthday for me but DMZ 6th was decent i enjoyed it from start to finish including the hour and half wait in the line. Met some sick people and blazed all the way along haha!

If the heat and capacity spoilt the night for you then for me your a proper bitch. I walked in with my mate from Uni and 5 of his mates or something and they were like "Fuck its rammed lets just jam here at the back". I marched right to the front with a little bit of push and shove (im not a big person at all) but we managed to find enough space for us front and centre all night without any problems.

Saddest moment tho? Hmmmm probably the whole Loefah lost dubs but at least some were saved :h:

saddest moment in MY dubstep history would have to be at big chill last year right at the end of digital mystikz set when the sound engineer cut off the sound just before the drop on goth trad - babylon fall :a:

6th bday was easily the least enjoyable DMZ i've been to, not saying i didn't enjoy it coz i still had a good night, just that every other DMZ I went to was much much better, if that was your first DMZ then fair play i understand why you thought it was such a sick night but comparatively it really wasnt all that... being rammo with sweaty topless moshing brostep mugs for skream and benga didnt help either tbh

Normal DMZ nights though... :U:

For me personally it was the realization that the scene had already peaked and that I wasn't there to see it happen.

My saddest moment was realizing that some of my favorite producers are actually total sh!t DJs.

The end of DMZ is a big personal one for me! Literally grew up on them. Probably 1/3 - 1/2 of all nights ive ever been to are DMZs. Went downhill towards the end, but for the best part those nights were the best times of my life growing up. 2nd bday was something just too special...

For me it was when local promoters who couldn't care less about the scene when it was struggling jumped on it as soon as Rusko and Skrillex came about. Last year there was a Lolapalooza after party organized by one of these promotion companies with 12th Planet, The Others, 16bit, Richie August and my dude Mega Mike. 16bit played a great set and dropped the Spartan riddim. I ran up to call for the reload (obvs) and all the candy-clad 18 year olds looked at me like there was something wrong with me. Strange as it sounds, that's when I knew dubstep / 'bass music' had completely changed.

The Others smashed it though.

Same, i first came to know of it around 06, right when (apparently) the scene was it it's peak. I didn't care for it at the time as i was a hyper 13 year old, but when i matured and starting listening to it on purpose around 08, there was to much shit to sift through. Makes me sad to think it'll wind down soon and i missed the whole ride.
