Works on two levels too. 1 it's about birds. 2 it implies Bnanni is a lesbian, which is almost equally hilarious.MKRUGGER wrote:@AxeD --- I love your Signature for some reason.. O_o

Yeah, I was thinking in terms of rules, Because i read somewhere you should EQ to make space for each element of your track,MKRUGGER wrote:Hahaha! I read some thread on here that said to do it.. I've done it a few times, but then I figured it isn't really necessary.. Unless you are going to have the Kick hitting when the Snare hits (Which in my latest track is the case) So I guess it can be useful! But as a guideline, not a rule.
This thread has brought me to the realization that I maybe have been following rules, and cutting when not really needed.. Sometimes I'm just afraid to use my ears because of my shit speakers :/ But oh well, I'll still change my ways a bit.

I suppose it didn't cause too much damage, My kicks didn't have a lot going on in the 200Hz range
Re: One huge misconception I had about EQing...
I've recklessly used EQ when I first started out. Very recently have I REALLY understood the difference/importance that layering makes, and as such, EQ has become even more important in my understanding of it's use/potential
Re: One huge misconception I had about EQing...
Typically I make cuts specific to each item i use. Every kick will settle different in every song. (E.g. Kick A would be Eqed differently in Song A, than if I used Kick A in Song B.) Its all about that sound youre trying to achieve.

You cut your kicks at 200? That's not even really a kick anymore is it?

i think a better ideology is to eq so there's not too much shit in every frequency range. A lot of shit does, and should overlap to make your track sound good. Seriously, spectral analyzers are my best friend.
