im not to down with tea time, or any american ritual as much as i'm down with the siesta. I dont know what they call it in the middle east (besides just "lunch") but i love the concept.
You close your shop, take a long long 4 hour lunch break with friends and family. relax, smoke, drink turkish coffee or tea and eat sweets. take a nap, then open your shop again at like 4 PM. then you just stay open till like 10 pm instead of 6.
I had a kuwaiti friend who lived down the street from me in kuwait city. sometimes i'd go over to his house for lunch. His mom and the maid would cook elaborate lunch meals that were just amazing, and we'd just hang out afterwords (having a maid to clean up the dishes helps too
